CARPETS IN ARAB CULTURE

23 Jul , 2015

The non-Arab cultures are inspired by nature; however Arabs in general are based on Turkish carpets due to theological ethics.

The carpet is the main furniture object for Arab cultures. They are highly important and some cities have even given their names to certain types of fabric such as muslin (Mosul), fustat (Cairo or Fustat).

TRIBAL CARPETS

12 Mar , 2015

The nomadic and Berber tribes continue weaving in traditional looms, similar to those that originated in the Neolithic.

These carpets are simple and made with materials common in every little town. An asymmetrical knot (also known as Berber knot) is included with 8-shaped around two warps and woof.
